Mentorship Program
The mentorship program aims to connect new community foundation staff with seasoned professionals in the industry. The program will assist in transferring knowledge, skills, and industry insights, creating a supporting framework for communication, learning, and retention.
Qualifications:
Mentee:
- Up to four years in the community foundation field, or
- Changed roles in the past 12 months
- Committed to showing up, bringing questions, and driving the conversation
- Open to learning, reflection, and professional growth
- Five years or more in the community foundation field
- Willingness to devote time and energy to mentee
- Accessible and responsive for regular check-ins
Commitment:
Mentee:
- Come prepared with questions to discuss with your mentor
- Meet with your mentor no less than quarterly
- Attend the FAOG mentee onboarding meeting
- Attend the FAOG mentee mid-year check-in meeting
- Attend the FAOG Conference and connect in person with your mentor (Not required, but highly recommended)
- Serve as a mentor—not a consultant
- When applicable, direct mentee to FAOG resources (e.g., discussion forum,webinars)
- Meet with your mentee no less than quarterly
- Attend the FAOG mentor onboarding meeting
- Attend the FAOG mentor mid-year check-in meeting
- Attend the FAOG Conference and connect in person with your mentee (Not required, but highly recommended)
